Sweet Dreams
WOOOOHOOO! Today is the third day in a row that Riley has taken an afternoon nap longer than an hour! I know this is not impressive to most, but my child is the one who never sleeps! Her naps lasted 40 minutes at the most (when she would take one) and it took us five months to get her to sleep through the night. Before that, she was up every hour. Unfortunaltely the curse lives on because I still wake up a few times at night. It never fails...I wake up, look at the clock and just know that she has smothered herself in the bumper pad or has flipped herself out of the crib. Stupid, I know. So every night I get up and tiptoe into her room and check that she is still breathing. Maybe by the time she is a year old I will accept the fact that she can sleep longer than an hour and still be breathing!!!
Besides the extra sleep, things have been pretty crazy. We went to Abilene this past weekend for a basketball game and got to see Justin's family. I forget how much I love Abilene! Every time I go it makes me dislike the big city a little more! I also forgot how nice it is to be in the same town as family. I miss Sunday lunch with everyone!
We did get to see a lot of friends! Thanks to everyone who came to the game. Sorry we lost! It was weird watching Justin coach on a court that he played on! We are getting old!
Now the Christmas countdown begins!!!

We really enjoyed seeing you guys. You have the greatest family ever! Ya'll need to get your buns in gear and just move here!!
Hollie, Jus, & Riley,
I can't wait to see you all over the holidays. I watch for you to blog everyday and either see Riley's latest precious pictures or read of "what's going on". I remember the days of sleepless nights and baby worries. They pass so fast and I know you realize that! Just enjoy them all while you can. As precious as Baby Justin was there were a few lack of sleepless nights too! Look how wonderful he turned out. Love you all bunches and see you soon. I hope Grammy Jo will share Riley with me and let me spoil her a little. You can consider yourself on vacation while you are here! Aunt Lynn
I am so glad to hear that you still go check on Riley in the middle of the night too! Boone thinks I am nuts for checking on Jackson as much as I do.
It's OK Hollie....I still check on my kids and they are 9 and 3!! HA I can't go to sleep without checking on them and then if I wake up in the middle of the night I think that is a sign and I have to go check on them again!! HA HA I know... they are too old to be doing that....I'm a dork! HA
Can't wait for Christmas!
Love, Heather
Hey Hollie - Just found your blog and love the pictures! I can't wait to get my hands on Riley! Talk to you soon ~ Amber
sweet little riley keeping you up -not letting you get anything done! we miss you guys!! we need to get together-I love her pictures!!
Ava was never a great sleeper either. I thought she would never sleep through the night. She does now for the most part, unless she's teething. . . or sick. . . or is out of sorts for no reason at all. I guess motherhood just means less sleep for some. I just can't talk to Jamie about it! :) We look forward to getting together with ya'll in Abilene. I think we'll probably actually get to see you more, which is great because we love to hang out with you two and Riley! You are such a sweet family. Hope you had a Merry first Christmas with Riley!
