Ike Is Now a Dirty Word

As most of you know, this past weekend we got a wonderful visit from "Ike." At the last minute we decided to pack up and head to Abilene. I am glad we did!!! Our house survived, but we have no power and no idea how long it will be until we get power! So, we might be hanging out in A-town for a few more days!!!

My wonderful parents went over to take care of a few things at our house. Here are some pictures...

There are trees down all over the neighborhood. At least every street has a house with a tree on it!

Our trampoline didn't quite make it...

And we are one of the lucky ones with a tree on the house...I don't think it did too much damage.

It might be hard to see, but in the background is a clearing where a tornado passed through. Not too far from our house all the trees are down and power lines twisted!! Way too close for comfort!!!

Overall, everything is good. We were really blessed!!

So glad that you didn't have it worse. We'll put a call in to Santa about the trampoline. But, I just glad that you guys are ok. OF COURSE, it would have been shorter to come to Camp Neena. We could have kept it secret!

Day 9 A.I. and we finally got the generator hooked up to the lap top and have an internet connection!!! I have so missed your blog. We are okay, but weary. Still no sign of power in our area. The word is that it might be after Thursday. I desire to cook, run the dishwasher, vacuum, wash and dry clothes! I could be loosing it! Don't anyone out there take your electricity for granted. Things I miss...cable tv, shaving my legs with a light on, air conditioning, the smell of clean sheets, etc. The light at the end of the tunnel is when we leave on Friday to visit Heidi, Philip, Macy, Harper and baby. Can't wait!! Spent the day at Hollie and Justin's washing our clothes! They are now in the "Have" group. We are still in the "Have Not" The air conditioning and cable tv was great! Gary didn't get off of the couch! hugs

Leyton points to all of the damage and says,"Look what Ike did, he was a bad bad." I would agree ,tree on houses especially your house is bad. We are so glad yall evacuated. Hope everyone bounces back fast. We enjoyed our visit with all of you during our "hurrication". Our thanks to Honey and Big Daddy for the great place to stay. Our 4 cats and 2 dogs say thanks and Hello also. Love to all Olga and Glenn
