Deep Thoughts from Riley

Here are a few of the things that come out of my precious three year old's mouth...
1. A few weeks ago our neighbors saw some wolves in our yard. When they came over to warn us, Riley overheard them. For a few days we played inside and just kept an eye out. We never saw them, so I didn't worry. About a week later we were driving in the car when Riley said "Hey mom, we haven't seen those wolves in a long time." I answered "I guess they found a new place to live and have moved." She so innocently replied "Whew, I was worried they were going to blow my house down!!!"
2. I was having some irregular heartbeats so I had to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours. Riley counted down the minutes until she could pull the sticky tabs off of me. After 24 hours those things were stuck on pretty good. Each time she would pull one off I would say "ouch, that hurt." She would look at me and with the maturity of a 25 year old say "Sorry, mom, but I have to do it!" I guess she has heard that from me before!
3. For some reason Riley is terrified of Santa this year. She doesn't even want to go to the mall because she knows that he is there. I have tried to explain to her that he is nice and we need to like him because he brings us presents. She looked at me and shot back "I don't need Santa to bring me presents...I have Honey and JoJo to do that!"
4. If you remember, my PaPa passed away last year. We went to Louisiana this Thanksgiving so we had to explain to Riley that Pa is in Heaven now and not with Gran anymore. She seemed to understand just fine and didn't ask too many questions. Yesterday in the car I heard from the backseat, "I miss Pa." I said "I do too, Riley, but he is in our hearts and happy up in Heaven." Thinking that was the end of it....Next I heard "So, how exactly did Pa get to Heaven." I was trying to think of a three year old explanation for this when she piped up "I know...when Pa was in his bed, the angels with wings flew down and got him and now he is up in Heaven playing games with God and Jesus." "Exactly!" I told her!
Oh...the mind of a three year old!

So sweet! I miss her! It makes me think of the time when she got hit with the volleyball and before she cried she asked, "Why didn't Macy get hit??"

This is exactly how Heather used to do! She was talking in full sentences by 1 and fully analyzing everything. I wish I would have written everything down. Riley is the sweetest little spirit I know! She must have awesome parents and GRANDPARENTS...( Honey and JoJo ....Big Daddy and Pops).

What a precious girl. I miss her so much, as well as that baseball boy. I'm glad she's thinking about all these things...she can explain them to us. I'm sure glad y'all live in a house of bricks, so the wolves can't blow you over. We love y'all...jojo
