Long time...no blog
So, I hope I have any readers out there who are still checking my blog...Our computer crashed before Christmas drastically hindering my blogging! Luckily we have a laptop but it is a Mac and I have no idea how to work it. So, I am learning and figuring things out so that my blogging may continue!
Christmas was great! We got to see family and the kids had a blast! We have been crazy busy with basketball season. The kids are doing great and growing so fast! I can't believe Brooks turns four next week. Too fast!!
The kids are crazy as usual! Especially my boys. Here is a small recap of the last 24 hours...
Last night after baths, I am helping Riley pick out her clothes for school the next day when I hear a bang followed by Justin yelling "Hollie." It is a very specific way that he calls my name when something is wrong with one of the children. So I go running into the kitchen to find Cade crying and bleeding from his eye. He had run into one of the kitchen chairs and split his eye right open. Unfortunately, this is not our first encounter with a split open head (thank you Brooks) so we were able to handle this calmly and easily. We really didn't feel like racking up huge medical bills so we decided to super glue his eye back ourselves...KIDDING! Are you still with me? What we really did was take Cade up to Justin's school so that his trainer could look at Cade's eye and tell us if he needed stitches. Luckily he did not! The trainer was able to clean it and tape it up. It is still pretty swollen today but is looking better.

So onto today....We have been protecting Cade all day from bumping his head and opening his cut. I have said five hundred times "watch out for Cade's head." We decided to go work out tonight after Justin got home from work. We drop the kids off in the kids club, go work out and come back to pick them up. Actually...I must confess, we sat outside of the kids' club on the couch for 15 minutes before we picked them up. Anyways, I guess those extra fifteen minutes made Brooks really miss us because the minute he saw us walk into the kids club he came running. And I mean running. Now, Brooks is great at hitting a baseball, throwing a football but running is not his strength. Poor guy got tripped up over those big feet of his and SMACK. Face first into the hard floor. In true Brooks fashion he started SCREAMING like someone had pulled his finger off. I mean LOUD! So we tried to calm him down so the entire gym wouldn't think we were stealing him as we dragged him hysterically crying out to the car. Once in the car I took a look at my tough guy and realized he had really nailed his cheek! Good news is no blood or doctor's office, but he is going to have one good bruise.

So, hopefully we can keep Riley injury free tomorrow!

Glad they are ok. Poor Brooks and Cade!

Man, you have tough boys. They are still cute as ever with or without their war wounds.
