Poor Guy

My poor Brooks just can't catch a break! Just one week after the concussion, Brooks managed to walk in front of Riley's swing and took a hit to the face. He cut his eye open. So, off to the hospital again to have him checked out. It was a close call for stitches so we opted out.

Then....
A few weeks ago we noticed he was limping. I thought his shoes were too small so we bought new ones. He still limped a little. For the past few days he has had a low grade fever and has really complained that his leg hurt. At times he wouldn't even walk on it. Now this is not my drama child...when Brooks says it hurts, it must really hurt. So, the fever combined with the pain and the on-going limp I decided to take him in. Turns out he has Toxic Synovitis. It is an inflammation of the leg that causes pain and eventually fever. Poor guy! He has had this for so long and never complained until now. Luckily the treatment is just a steady dose of motrin for 48 hours...Pray it goes away! We will reevaluate in 48 hours. Hopefully it will be cleared up. If not, we will have to do blood work for further evaluation.
